Verdict
Several of these are course and distance winners, including the last two winners of this - Double Ross and Bob Ford. Beat That is lightly raced for his age and has won a couple of novice events recently. Kings Lad won at Exeter and Fontwell in May and made a satisfactory reappearance over hurdles while Exitas won at Market Rasen last month, though this looks too far and it’s also beyond the best of On Tour. Alvarado stays much further but it’s a long time since he got his head in front and this may be too competitive for Uhlan Bute. CAROLE’S DESTRIER might just be best caught fresh as he was returning from a break when a fair fifth at Sandown in April – he is now 12lb lower than when second to Native River in the 2016 Hennessy.
