    Verdict

Song Huntress gets a narrow vote over Noble Edge in what looks a two-horse race on paper, with the market a guide to the chances of the other three. Song Huntress might not have beaten much at Beverley last week, but at least that was in claiming company, after which she left James Given. Her new trainer David Bridgewater has given her every chance of doubling up by plunging her back into selling class, and she is taken to see off Noble Edge. Paul Blockley's charge was fitted with first-time cheekpieces here last month and they seemed to help as he finished second to Wizby in a six-furlong seller. However, he seems to have gone backward again judged on latest efforts, and is hard to fancy seriously. He in turn is more of a threat than the remaining three contenders, which does not say much for them, and in a race in which bets should be kept to the absolute minimum, Song Huntress makes most appeal.
