Verdict

Puzzle Cache has gone up 4lb for a narrow win in a amateur riders’ handicap at Exeter last month. Beau Haze has slipped down the ratings again but today’s going may be too testing for Phillip Dando’s charge. Shutthegate won on heavy ground at Warwick on New Year’s Eve, however, and it was soft going when Mickyh produced a career-best at Plumpton a day later. AFTER THE FOX didn’t quite last home over 3m at Doncaster last week. He’s reunited with Chester Williams here, who was on board when the gelding won over a similar trip at Warwick last season.
