In depth
Verdict
Mister Magpie won with a shade in hand at Stratford on Sunday and is taken to score again with Taskmaster, Wot No Cash and Boss Royal the dangers. Tom George's eight-year-old made all and jumped accurately when defeating Sylphide last time and although he is dropping significantly in trip, the ground will be very testing and he should be capable of making all again. Taskmaster appears to be on a high mark for this his chasing debut, but the Phillip Hobbs inmate has only had six runs in his life and is open to plenty of improvement. This is a tough introduction to chasing though and the fences at Chepstow will test him so he may be best watched on this occasion. Wot No Cash is a course winner over a longer trip but that was in a seller on fast ground. This is tougher and he appears to have difficulty jumping when there is cut in the ground so he looks opposable. Boss Royal has not won for nearly two years and he did not shape with any promise when pulled-up last time, so in a race full of imponderables we will side with the in-form Mister Magpie.
