Midnightreflection is only a pound higher that when winning at Doncaster in February and Charlie Case takes off 7lb. Blue Bikini has won three of her four starts this year and jockey bookings suggest she is preferred to the returning Lassue but she has to give 7lb to FORTUNA LIGNA (NAP), who certainly wasn’t winning out of turn here in April. The runner-up has franked the form and this longer trip should be within her compass. Kym Eyre has already won over hurdles and fences this month and course and distance winner Jasmiwa isn’t out of this either.
Midnightreflection 13-2 (10-11) Raced keenly in mid-division, plugging on and hanging left when not much room approaching 2 out, mistake last, weakened run-in, 5th of 10, 5 1/2l behind Regarding Ruth (10-11) at Warwick 3m 1f hcp (3) gd in Apr.
Blue Bikini 7-1 (12-0) Led until 3rd, prominent, not fluent 7th, challenged 2 out, hung left flat, driven out, won at Warwick 2m 5f hcp (4) gd in May beating Passing Reflection (11-9) by 1/2l, 14 ran.
Jasmiwa (FR) 6-1 (10-5) Led early, led 2nd, headed after 3rd, ridden and weakened before 4 out, pulled up before 3 out, at Ayr 3m hcp (2) gs in Apr.
Lassue 9-4fav (11-0) Held up early, good headway on inside tracking leaders 2nd, led on inside after 5th, clear before 2 out, awkward last, stayed on well, won at Ludlow 2m 5f mdn (4) gs in Feb beating Tikitov (11-7) by 4l, 8 ran.
Fortuna Ligna (IRE) 1-2fav (11-6) Made all, joined and slight stumble last, driven and stayed on gamely run-in, won at Chepstow 2m 3f mdn (4) gs in Apr beating All The Glory (11-6) by nk, 13 ran.
Kym Eyre (IRE) 3-1fav (11-4) Handy, jumped right at times, shaken up and led approaching 2 out, soon faced challenge, not fluent last and headed, ridden run-in and carried left, rallied towards finish, just held (finished 2nd placed 1st), 2nd of 9, at Ffos Las 2m 5f hcp (4) gs in Oct.
