Verdict
Just one favourite, at 7/1, has won this in the past 10 years. Richard Fahey is attempting to land this for Dr Koukash with a trio of 'Gabrial's' plus Duke Of Clarence while the owner also has Marco Botti's Suegioo entered with Ryan Moore on board, as he was when the six-year-old was successful a year ago. He's 8lb higher this time and Gabrial's King, who was unlucky not to finish much closer to Trip To Paris at Ripon and can turn the tables, who may prove best of the owner's quintet. Last year's fourth Mubaraza looks to have been aimed at another crack and is respected though this looks destined for Ireland. The four-year-old Zafayan has done his winning on soft ground and has always looked a potentially useful stayer. He's at the right end of the handicap and conditions have come right for him so he's a threat to all but it's his compatriot QUICK JACK who has to be the selection. A very close third in the Cesarewitch, he was having his first subsequent start when occupying the same position in the County Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham and looks on a very tempting mark back on the level.
