Verdict

GIN IN THE INN followed a win at Redcar with a six-length romp at Pontefract last week. He can shrug off a penalty on that evidence and is preferred to Lagenda. The latter was a close-up fourth at Catterick a fortnight ago and can race off the same mark here. Dark Defender is not badly weighted on last year’s success at York and is worth another try over today’s trip while Russian Soul can race off a much lower mark back on Turf and Twin Point and Call Out Loud have been in good form on the all-weather.
