Verdict
Catalyze would have a major chance in this on last year's form but he's proved a big disappointment so far this year. Chosen Character, on the other hand, has clearly improved over the winter and for the fitting of a visor and chasing a hat-trick after wins at Haydock and Pontefract. Chilled can build on his victory in a Leicester maiden and has more scope than either Fred Willetts or Kingscroft, first and second over a mile here two weeks ago while the penny has finally dropped with Beverley scorer Power Punched. But the vote goes to BERTIEWHITTLE, who just failed to land a classified stakes at York after winning at Musselburgh and has earned his new mark.
