In depth

Verdict

The veteran Sir Maximilian has won five times around here and very nearly added another a couple of weeks ago where he didn't quite get the run of the race. Stall nine won't aid his cause here and, from his inside berth, FIRMAMENT may have his measure. David O'Meara's charge hasn't won since July but has been racing in much stronger company and can get back to winning ways. Three Saints Bay is on a very long losing run and ran a shocker at Beverley last time while Alminoor appears best on Polytrack. Willie John has been running poorly though in much better company.
