      Verdict

      Ashpan Sam won a lady riders’ contest at Lingfield a week ago and is 6lb higher. Powerallied finished runner-up over track and trip on his penultimate start and Connor Murtagh’s 5lb allowance aids his cause while Batten The Hatches can race off the same mark as when second at Ayr recently but this looks a tougher race. CONFESSIONAL was drawn wide here last time but that didn’t stop Tim Easterby’s veteran from winning and he gets the vote to go in again given he landed last year’s renewal off a higher mark.
