In depth

Verdict

Big Bad Bob landed a number of tasty bets at Newcastle last time out and although the track at Chester is something of an imponderable, he has led from the front and is drawn well today in the three stall. Countykat had been progressing nicely enough but was outclassed in a hot Ascot contest last time.He is respected in this grade although the draw could have been kinder. Dutch Gold ran well enough behind All Nines on his debut but was most disappointing in a subsequent race at Newmarket. His stable are in better form but he still has something to prove on all evidence. The Teamtalk nod is given to Bugatti Royale. He ran very green at Catterick on his first start but the form has been upheld by the winner, Lodge Keeper, who has since placed in a Newmarket nursery. Paul Cole has had a couple of winners in the last few days and given that this colt holds a Dewhurst entry, he is probably capable of much better than he has shown on the track.
