          Verdict

          Pachattack is the only European runner but, though she's a winner in North America, Gerard Butler's mare usually comes up short at this level. On what could be a good night for favourites, PLUM PRETTY looks like another jolly who should prove tough to beat. It seemed her victory over C&D in the Kentucky Oaks back in May had taken its toll as she suffered three defeats afterwards, but Bob Baffert's filly bounced back in no uncertain terms with a seven-length victory over the re-opposing It's Tricky in a Grade 2 last month and recorded a three digit speed figure in the process. The latter has struggled since landing a Grade 1 double earlier in the season and also found Royal Delta much too good at Saratoga in August. Bill Mott's charge could prove the biggest threat to the selection ahead of Ask The Moon and Ultra Blend.
