Hawk Dance has shown signs of ability, not least when only beaten three lengths when second off this mark at Tramore last month. He was in front a long way from home that day and it would be no surprise if he went close ridden with more restraint here. Formal Bid finished ahead of both Kasserine and Man In Black at Sligo last month but failed to build on that at Tramore next time and may not appreciate the drop in distance. The vote, therefore, goes to WAYDOWNSOUTH. There must be some doubt on breeding whether Patrick Flynn's unexposed gelding will stay 1m2f but he took the scenic route to score over a mile at Killarney last month and still stayed on strongly close home.
