In depth

Verdict

The four-year-old Dougal Philps, a winner on the Flat, showed progressive form over hurdles and comes here with plenty of allowances for his chasing debut. Notimetoserve won a handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe in July and is expected to do well over the bigger obstacles but Treat Yourself hasn't improved on a fair chasing debut at Kilbeggan. Dual hurdles winner Namarama was in touch and going well enough when falling at Limerick and, as that was only his second start over fences, he can improve and get involved. Stop The Clock has come up against decent opposition since scoring over hurdles at Sligo in May and should find this a little easier but the vote goes to GOAL. Gordon Elliott's versatile performer will be having his 60th start but has already managed nine career victories. He makes his debut over fences after scoring on the Flat at Dundalk last week and can make a successful start.
