Verdict

Despite a surprise defeat by Roger Beantown at Thurles, POPCORN will be all the rage here and should gain compensation. Willie Mullins' charge looked as though a longer trip would suit but today's opposition doesn't look particularly strong. Around A Pound showed promise last season but has run dismally in two recent starts and Boro Bee, another who has shown potential, hasn't run since finishing tailed off behind Cadspeed at Gowran two years ago. Simonay has a nice pedigree and though well beaten on his only start at Cork in May should do better in time.
