It is a surprise to see Carbon King entered here. He was engaged with a strong chance in a Navan handicap yesterday following a facile victory at Limerick. He is still 13lb below the rating of Boothen Boy though Gordon Elliott's charge has not run well since returning from a long break but would have finished second in a Grade 3 at Navan in October 2021 but for falling at the last. The stable also run Knocknagappagh, who looks a more likely winner in receipt of 21lb. Youralwaysdreamin won a similar race to this by just over a length from Bal De Rio over 2m5f at Limerick though the latter has the better of the weights here. However, NEVENDON was clear at this trip in that event and though still a maiden John McConnell's charge can finally get off the mark.
