Verdict

BLACKBOW hasn't fulfilled potential but is still rated 155 after his placed effort behind Energumene in the Leopardstown Arkle last year. He ran well in major handicaps on his first two starts this year before outpaced by Captain Guinness over two miles in a Naas Grade 3. The winner is trained by Henry De Bromhead, who has Spyglass Hill engaged. He won a Limerick handicap in December but was a long way behind the selection in a Grade A at Leopardstown next time where he jumped poorly. It's a very long time since Kildorrery won but he still looks better than recent track winner Three Louds Knocks.
