In depth

Verdict

Asitsohappens ran so well behind City Slicker at Punchestown in May that he started a short-priced favourite at Clonmel a month later but was beaten when falling at the last. Benrouge has been coming up against useful opposition without threatening and this looks a slight drop in class. BOONDOOMA ploughed through the LImerick mud last week to gain a very easy success in a bumper and though this is a much stiffer test he's in good heart and is taken to follow-up. Connaught Manor hasn't shown much since making a winning bumper debut in July 2102 but Defining Year, placed numerous times in Listed and Group company on the Flat, is surely better than he showed on his hurdling debut at Leopardstown last week.
