Verdict

Carrigmoorna Pine had been well beaten in his two previous starts over timber before easily landing a Clonmel maiden when well supported. Charles Byrnes won this in 2017 and Advanced Virgo beat a big field at Navan in September before finding 2m4f beyond him in a better race at Galway. FAUGUERNON, three times a winner on the Flat, had only shown moderate ability over timber before a much improved run in a Leopardstown handicap where he beat a huge field. There should be more to come and a double looks on the cards. Act Of God made a successful debut for new connections at Tramore in May and also scored on the Flat there in August. He had form on testing ground in France so further rain would aid his cause. Randalls Ur Poet has a career strike-rate of 0-31 but Texard showed definite signs of ability at Navan last month.
