In depth

Verdict

Rory Anna won this in 2010 but that was on heavy ground and she's been hurdling with only limited success. Joseph O'Brien rode a smart front-running race on board Robin Hood at Leopardstown and though his mount has been raised 10lb he was returning after a very long absence. Third place that day went to Malayan Mist, who must have a fair chance of reversing the form on the revised terms. Tribes And Banner has never won on turf but is well handicapped despite completing a double at Dundalk in January. He appeared to need every yard of the 1m4f on those occasions, however, and might find HONOURABLE EMPEROR too quick for him here. Noel Meade's three-year-old makes his handicap debut and will be tackling further than a mile for the first time but he stayed on strongly at Dundalk last time and is progressing quickly enough to take this.
