In depth

Verdict

Local handler Terence O'Brien saddled a double at Limerick on Saturday and Iconic Image is much better than he showed at Clonmel, where he wasn't suited by front-running. Quarry Rua won by a distance at Dromahane in November and finished alone at Kildorrey last month and could be decent but the vote goes to Nina Carberry's mount BROKEN SOUL. Runner-up to the useful Anibale Fly over hurdles at Navan in December, he wasn't beaten far in what looked a very strong bumper won by Gurteen at Leopardstown a fortnight later and looks to have too much class for these. Virtual Insanity has shown some promise but may do better on quicker ground while Liz Doyle's newcomer Ask The Legend is the first foal of a winning bumper/hurdler.
