Swing Pattern made a bright start behind Photo Opportunity at Killarney but was then beaten when odds-on at Listowel and had little chance behind Gitano Hernando in a Group 3 at Down Royal. Ancient Kingdom finished a good third behind stablemate Don Carlos on his only juvenile start and though disappointing on his reappearance last month he will have come on for the run. He finished just behind today's rivals Eighteen Summers, who was well beaten at Navan subsequently, and Barrow Island, who had the benefit of three earlier runs, though the one to take from the race is EURHYTHMIC, who was out with the washing entering the straight but finished with such a flourish that he almost got to the winner. Lake Worth and Councilofconstance are others to consider in a wide-open maiden.
