Verdict

BACARDYS is expected to take high rank amongst novice hurdlers this winter as an entry in the Grade 1 Royal Bond next month confirms. A very close third in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, he reversed the form with the pair who finished in front of him at Aintree but couldn't quite hold his form in the championship event at Punchestown where he again finished third. Winning bumper Black Zambezi has improved with every run over hurdles and only just failed to catch Potters Point at Galway while the likes of Sunni May and Dr Mikey have done very well in bumpers and should be winning over hurdles soon. William B was a 40/1 chance when runner-up to War Anthem at Roscommon and will have come on enormously for the experience.
