In depth

Verdict

A small field but an interesting contest that sees the return to action of the superbly bred AWAIT THE DAWN, who hasn't been seen since a poor effort in Doncaster's Champagne Stakes almost a year ago. The Giant's Causeway colt had looked something special on his debut at Naas last July and doesn't appear to take much getting ready. Enchanted Evening was off for exactly a year before a fair run in a Group 3 at the Curragh in May and should be at concert pitch for this while Vita Venturi didn't enjoy the soft conditions at Leopardstown after scoring on much faster going at the Curragh. Zerashan will need to improve but New Magic won nicely at Galway and there is no reason why she shouldn't continue on the upgrade.
