    Verdict

CALICO has had ten starts without winning but has come up against much stronger opposition than this and placed efforts in Listed company at Aintree and behind Sir Allen at Punchestown would be too good for these. Luminous Light was ten lengths behind in the latter contest and has done better on quicker ground while Snapius, who ran well in a Punchestown handicap in January, was beaten a long way in a better-class race at Haydock last month. Heather Bear completed a hat-trick on the Flat in mid-summer and is one to note on her hurdling debut.
