In depth

Verdict

Caroline Murtagh has used her claim to good effect on her father's Fix It, just holding on in a driving finish at Dundalk and Down Royal. Another 6lb rise may just prove too much to handle though the combination should get involved again. HAVE A NICE DAY was unlucky to come up against three raiders from the UK at Galway and could only finish fourth. He was carrying a massive 7lb overweight that day and now back on his correct mark with Pat Smullen in the saddle can regain the winning thread. Port Merrion has been running very well without winning and remains reasonably treated as does Yava, who has run well in his last two starts yet has been dropped in the weights. Nancy Rose is progressing nicely but scored over 1m2f on soft ground at Ballinrobe and may find this on the short side. Anner Queen was well supported for a Tipperary handicap on Friday but had to be withdrawn after rearing in the stalls.
