In depth

Verdict

LOVE IN THE SUN (NAP) was conceding Kandahari 18lb when successful at Listowel and the runner-up boosted the form by scoring at Gowran. Dermot Weld's filly has gained both of her victories on heavy ground but there's no reason why she won't be suited by these conditions. She's handed the vote though Kubali gained a spectacular victory on fast going at Killarney which has resulted in a massive 16lb rise in the weights. Grand Canyon, a winner at Redcar in June, could just need this first start for new connections but Vastonea would be a real threat to all if conditions turn soft after his excellent run in a premier handicap over the track and trip last month.
