Verdict

This isn't for the faint-hearted and a quartet of UK entries complicate matters. Sea Pride followed her easy victory at Kempton with a fine run behind today's rival Ted Veale over 1m6f at Listowel and will definitely be suited by the longer trip as will the winner. David Pipe sends the useful jumper Alternatif from Somerset and the five-year-old will be staying on when others have had enough though softer ground would help. Guard Of Honour represents George Baker, who rarely wastes entries, while Sylvester Kirk's See And Be Seen will stay the trip and has an excellent strike-rate. The home challenge is very strong led by the Grade 1-winning bumper SILVER CONCORDE, who has only had nine starts in his career and makes his handicap debut. He still has the potential to do much better and can stave off a powerful challenge from the likes of Sr Cartage, Whiteout and Encrypted Message.
