In depth

Verdict

Early Call disappointed when well supported at Navan on Wednesday after finishing second to Zippity at Dundalk. Beaten just under 3 lengths that day, he's a massive 15lb better off and should reverse the form. Strong Johnson went up 10lb for winning a Navan maiden and though he's continued to run well he could be a couple of pounds high. He'll be conceding 23lb to Teddy Boy, beaten 7 lengths in that Navan event off levels so the latter, who returned there with a victory a fortnight later, should turn the tables. However, his victory was achieved by a head from FACE OFF, who was impeded coming out of the stalls and though only 1lb better off is taken to gain only her second victory. Sunset Nova was returning from a long break when fourth at Naas on Monday and with that under his belt can go well.
