Verdict

Surprisingly for such a competitive handicap, half of the last ten favourites have won but three-year-olds don't have a good record. Michael Wigham places his horses brilliantly and Foxy Forever wouldn't be travelling here for the fresh air though he went up 12lb for scoring here in June. Jamesie landed a Group 3 here a year ago and bounced back to form to beat Alkasser at Navan last week for which he has a 5lb penalty so the runner-up should get closer. The latter's trainer also runs the lightly-raced and progressive Morselle, who was just behind Great Wide Open when they occupied the places at Dundalk. Richard Fahey has two entries and George Bowen may prove best of them though he had to drop a level to score at Newmarket. Thurles-based handler Andy Slattery believes some cut in the ground would help CREGGS PIPES despite the progressive filly making all twice on fast going at Leopardstown. She looks the type to continue on the upgrade and can take this for the younger brigade though An Saighdiur, an impressive winner here last time, is another strong candidate.
