Verdict

Siskin won this last year and Ger Lyons runs To Glory, who went into many notebooks with a smooth victory at Limerick. Lucky Vega overcame greenness to get up close home at Naas so normal progress can see him in the firing-line while Eastern Voice, who was two lengths behind him that day, has improved with each run and gained a deserved victory at Cork on Sunday. MERCHANTS QUAY finished runner-up to stable companion Admiral Nelson over 5f here then had few problems going one better over this trip on a return visit. He had Arctician three lengths behind in the latter event but Paddy Twomey's colt showed improved form when beaten a neck in the Group 3 Marble Hill at Cork so there should be little in it here.
