Verdict
AUSTRALIA, a son of Galileo out of the brilliant Ouija Board, looked a relatively cheap buy at 525,000gns given his illustrious pedigree and started a short-priced favourite on his debut here last month. Unfortunately for his supporters he badly missed the break and had too much to do but stayed on strongly at the finish behind Renaissance Art and compensation awaits. Kerkeni wasn't far behind in third so it's significant that John Oxx is willing to take on the runner-up again while the winner's trainer is represented by the well-connected Spring Focus. Another son of Galileo, Juniper Tree, looks the Ballydoyle second string but Dermot Weld's horses are going well and the filly Carla Bianca is worth noting for the future though she'll probably need further.
