In depth

Verdict

With an official rating of 101, NEW YORK CITY should be up to winning a maiden and Wayne Lordan, who has been on board for three of his four starts, keeps the ride. He was a bit disappointing here last time after running in the Middle Park but today's opposition may not be up to much. Alighieri didn't mind the very testing ground at Limerick and looks best of the remainder with experience while Lord Abama is out of a speedily-bred winning two-year-old so should have plenty of pace. Witch Of The Wood is another with plenty of speed in her pedigree being a half-sister to two winning juveniles. Upbeat has only shown moderate ability but with her stable in fine form she can't be dismissed.
