In depth

Verdict

Centurius had a subsequent winner behind when runner-up in a Listed race at Newmarket last month. That looks a better effort than Stepping Ahead's easy victory in a Pontefract handicap and Elkaayed's maiden win at Headquarters. But the form of SEA MEETS SKY's win at Ascot on her debut is working out well as a couple of winners have already come out of the race. Sir Henry Cecil's filly is entered in the Ribblesdale at Ascot and she should be up to winning before taking on better opposition. Queensberry Rules is also engaged at Ascot but has missed a couple of recent engagements presumably because of the ground. If the rains stay away he looks to have every chance of extending his unbeaten record on the back of a win at Sandown.
