Verdict
7lb between the whole field tells its own story but FRANCIS XAVIER arrives with just three runs on the board as he embarks upon his four-year-old career. Gelded after landing a modest Newcastle maiden last November, he's been given plenty of time by Hugo Palmer and a decent chance by the assessor for this handicap bow. He's hard to assess but we'll take the plunge with the unexposed son of High Chaparral. Come On Come On rates in good heart this term and should make a good fist of things off topweight on the back of an improved effort latest when just beaten at Windsor. Like the selection, he is lightly-raced and open to plenty of progress. Mikmak makes most appeal of the more established brigade after a fine reappearance run when just failing to oblige at Haydock over this trip. whilst Shadow Warrior cannot be discounted either.
