Verdict
Four previous course and distance winners contest this handicap with Regal Dan, back to winning ways at York last time, possibly the pick of the quartet ahead of Mezzotint, Johnny Cavagin and Victoire De Lyphar. Major Crispies has to go on the short-list having only lost out by half-a-length to Donncha at Redcar when Johnny Cavagin and Victoire De Lyphar were behind. Kalk Bay ended a long losing run at Chester and is only 3lb higher but EXCHEQUER has to be worth another chance back over his best trip. He found things happening too quickly for him over 6f here last time having looked progressive previously - Cam Hardie's claim is in his favour.
