        Verdict

        Thesme kept on to finish second over this trip at Thirsk having made much of the running but FOOLAAD (NAP) was headed right on the line by Awjab over 6f at Nottingham on his latest start and that looks better form. Roy Bowring's four-year-old is also preferred to Beverley runner-up Compton River and Lamps Of Heaven, who hasn't raced since her second at Wolverhampton in December. Only Just is likely to prove the pick of the newcomers and wouldn't need to be anything special to play a part.
