Verdict

A typical November Handicap with endless chances. Conditions are going to be testing on Town Moor and stamina will be essential so CALLING THE WIND fits the bill. He stays much further than this as his seasonal campaign shows and was a sound third in the Cesarewitch when last seen. Nevertheless, he's a good traveller through his races and showed his capabilities over this trip when just inched out at Newbury on his penultimate start. Jamie Spencer is a good booking. First Light is a strong consideration as a three-year-old for the Gosden team, whilst the likes of East Asia, Sam Cooke and Global Storm can all have cases made for them. HMS President has claims under Tom Marquand and Flyin' Solo is a fascinating contender on a first start since mid-July, after which he was gelded.
