In depth

Verdict

NAMIBIAN folded quickly and was eased on his hurdles introduction at Huntingdon, eventually finishing 17 lengths behind third Nordic Quest. But that was his first run for more than two years and Nicky Henderson's charge wouldn't have lived with the Queen's Vase and Gordon Stakes winner on the Flat. Much more is expected today from John Ferguson's gelding, who can open his account under NH Rules over an extra half-mile. Minella Friend has run well in a couple of hurdle starts at Exeter and has place claims again but Softsong has proved expensive to follow in the past. Save The Bees, debutant Thomas Junior and Easter Dancer look best of the rest.
