        Verdict

        Horses with big weights haven't fared too well in this race in the past and so preference is for BRIDLE BELLE. Despite showing signs of greenness, Richard Fahey's filly won comfortably on debut at Thirsk. The second, third and fifth home have all scored since and a mark of 82 may underestimate this half-sister to Siyaadah. Mariachi Man and Fred Willetts may be slightly flattered by Ripon wins where both raced on the best ground, and a bigger danger might be My Freedom. Godolphin will be keen to start this meeting with a bang and this 260,000 Euros purchase was well-backed before winning cosily at Nottingham last month. Orientalist chases a fourth win in a month and is a big player if quickly turned out after York, Rerouted has been given a break since encountering defeat at Newmarket but his form is excellent, whilst Byronic's form also reads well and cheek-pieces may add another couple of pounds of improvement. Catalyze, the blinkered Planet Waves, and the consistent Whisper Louise look the best of the rest.
