    Verdict

Nanton and Precision Break, the last two winners of this long-established handicap, try again this year but are 4lb and 2lb higher respectively. Northumberland Plate winner Tominator and Theology were second and third behind Berling in a Listed handicap at Chester last month and the former has since run well over this trip at Haydock. But ETERNAL HEART didn't have a lot of luck in that Chester race having been well backed. Mark Johnston's three-year-old will be better suited by this galloping track and had earlier finished ahead the aforementioned pair at York. He gets the vote, though stablemate Shernando is respected with Hanagan on board and Bourne is worth a second look trying this longer trip for the first time.
