Verdict
It may be worth chancing a small investment with Ishka Baha, who is likely to represent more value than the penalised North Lodge, while Rebel Raider and Danebank are others that merit respect. Step Perfect is another to bear in mind, although he failed to live up to his name when unshipping his rider at Wetherby on his latest start. He had previously been progressive and should not be ruled out too quickly here. Danebank has ability and should be able to make his presence felt at the business end. However, he does have to give plenty of weight away and, as he was seventh in this race last year, it is safe to assume that others have a bit more scope for improvement at this stage. Rebel Raider has a good record of making the frame over hurdles and is a definite for the shortlist in his company. He is fit from the Flat and he holds solid each-way claims today. North Lodge has taken time to adjust since he arrived from Germany last year. However, it came together well for him at Hereford ten days ago and he has to be respected despite being set to carry a 7lb penalty. The same can be said of Caesarean Hunter, who bolted up in a similar contest at Exeter last week. This is slightly tougher though and he needs to find a little more from somewhere. Therefore, in the search for a value option, we turn to Ishka Baha, who is expected to have come on for her reappearance at Leicester 25 days ago. Tom George has done really well with similar types of late and, with his string absolutely flying, Ishka Baha can give us a good run for the money in a very tough one to call.
