Verdict
The two-year-old Sunsprite appeared to handle good to soft ground when third at Ripon recently and he is getting plenty of weight from older rivals. Encore d'Or won this last year under Ryan Moore when well-backed favourite Final Venture was only fourth. But Paul Midgley’s charge is now 3lb better off, though worse off at the weights than when beaten by EL ASTRONAUTE at York three weeks ago. John Quinn’s sprinter is tough and consistent and would have finished a lot closer to Under The Covers, who was receiving 13lb, at Goodwood earlier had he not veered off a straight course in the closing stages. Wings Of The Rock was third to Haddaf in this grade at Sandown in June but Marnie James and recent Sandown winner Global Applause would require a further step forward.
