Alfraamsey sets the standard but looks vulnerable to anything with potential and our idea of one such horse is FORMOSINA who gets a confident vote in the opener. Jeremy Noseda and Ryan Moore combined for a well-backed winner on Thursday and a similar scenario may play out here, as this once-raced son of Footstepsinthesand caught the eye on his debut at Newbury when third to a couple of potentially smart sorts. This race has a much less competitive look to it and as his sire twice won on soft ground there are no concerns about the likely cut in the ground and he really should get off the mark. Alfraamsey had plenty go against him at Chester last time and, having placed on all four tries so far, does look capable of landing a small race. Having said that he's far from certain to enjoy the rain-softened ground and is beginning to look exposed; he looks vulnerable once more, but should once again achieve a place. Tim Easterby seems to have a decent batch of juveniles but King Of The Celts is bred to improve over time when stepped up in distance so along with Finn's Rainbow, who needs to leave his debut fourth at Wolverhampton behind, is readily opposed. Arctic Cat is a more interesting newcomer as he's the half-brother to a juvenile sprint winner and there's speed on the dam's side of the pedigree, so check the market ahead of his first run. Restless Bay is Reg Hollinshead's first juvenile runner of the year so needs a look too but his record with such runners at Doncaster is poor so we'll return to Formosina, who could outclass these.
