Verdict

An open handicap for us here and we'll take MILNE GRADEN to spring a bit of a surprise while Moonquake looks one of the better ones in opposition. The Jeremy Noseda-trained selection has winning course form to his name together with success on good to soft. Being by Montjeu he should handle it if there is more of the forecast rain, this trip looks ideal and cheekpieces for the first time is another potential plus, so we'll take a chance on him. Moonquake has similar credentials and went pretty well in the King George V handicap at Royal Ascot when last seen in June. That was his debut in this sphere and he can show improvement this time. Meshtri takes a fair step up in class but will relish the ground and see the trip out well if he has the class to go with them, while conditions also suit Group Captain, though this is a big ask for him off top weight after a break. New Guinea is below his last winning mark here and likes some cut, so if he is well in himself then a big effort is anticipated, while Tastahill is in decent form and is unexposed at this trip and can prove to be one of the dangers to the selection.
