      Verdict

Divine Jewel has finished second in Group 3 and Listed company this year but she will almost certainly find at least one too good again in this grade. The Gosden yard has won this four times since 2015, including the last two. The four-year-old One Evening is less exposed than younger stablemate Lmay and also the choice of William Buick. She’ll need to improve again on a recent second at York but that is not out of the question. Night Sparkle has joined Andrew Balding having rattled-up a hat-trick for Michael O’Callaghan and further rain would bring Golden Lyra into calculations. William Haggas also runs Crack Of Light, who seems certain to relish this step up in trip, but a soft surface suits SUMO SAM, as she showed when making all in the Lillie Langtry over this trip at Goodwood. That was a huge improvement on previous efforts and has earned her a penalty in this but she’ll be hard to beat again if in the same mood. Ching Shih, second to St Leger entry Arrest at Newbury, is also respected but Irish challengers Boogie Woogie and Shamwari look to have a bit to find on recent form.
