Verdict

Both three-year-olds are noted at the foot of the weights against their elders but both are relatively inexperienced and may not be quite good enough against battle-hardened handicappers. YEEOOW didn't really put down a marker with any conviction in the ultra-competitive York handicap won by the progressive Aetna last time but previous efforts in similar contests at Newmarket and Pontefract put him in here with a good shout. It's over a year since he visited the winner's circle but there have been plenty of creditable efforts, always in decent handicaps, to suggest that today might be his day with Joey Haynes good value for his claim. Secondo has only run eight times so expect Roger Charlton to eke out further improvement this season now he's got an all-important reappearance run under his belt. Mississippi returns from an injury-enforced absence of nearly a year but if he's anywhere close to his best he'd be a danger to all and the market may well prove the best signpost to his chance.
