In depth

Verdict

Grozni has switched to James Owen having won for Charles Byrnes at Downpatrick in August. Brandy McQueen found 2m4f an insufficient test of stamina at Carlisle after winning at Kelso but Ree Okka has become hard to place. ABUFFALOSOLDIER (NAP) won off this mark over hurdles and was second at Hereford last month. He still has scope over fences and this galloping track will suit. Twinjets can improve on a third at Ascot and Scrum Diddly gave supporters of the odds-on Chianti Classico a fright at the same track. Egbert won over an extended 2m4f at Kempton with Ludlow runner-up The Kniphand adding to the interest.
