In depth

Verdict

This looks pretty tight at the weights, as is the norm in these events, but KING TORUS stands out on recent form. Ruth Carr's charge followed a win at Newcastle with victory at Ripon where he beat a couple of subsequent winners and the hat-trick beckons. Ryan Moore's presence on Pipers Note takes the eye as the latter steps up in trip while Apostle has been competing in decent handicaps of late and is another to consider. This may prove too tough for Catterick winner Johnny Cavagin but the veteran Smarty Socks scored off today's mark last year and Badr Al Badoor has the past form over 6f that gives her a chance.
