In depth

Verdict

A winner at Newcastle last month, Hesslewood could only manage third at Ripon last time and headgear is applied. GALLIC also won at Newcastle in October and was placed at Newmarket on his reappearance when finishing in front of Brian Epstein. Ed Walker’s should make a bold bid on that evidence but Artistic Rifles steps up to a mile for the first time having finished third over 7f at Wetherby recently. On The Line is now 12lb higher than when scoring on the all-weather in March and Massam drops back down in trip for last year’s winning yard.
